Description
Cavelle Dining Table
A nearly eight-foot marble and carbon steel dining table for eight to ten, for modern homes that want a large stone table with a sharper, more architectural edge.
At 94.49 inches long and 43.31 inches wide, it seats eight with room to spare, three per side and one at each end, and ten comfortably with four along each side. The 43-inch width leaves a full place setting in front of every guest and a wide strip down the middle for platters, wine, and candles. At 29.53 inches high, it sits at standard dining height and works with most dining chairs.
The contrast between the two materials is what defines it. Marble brings natural veining, a cool, smooth surface, and soft reflections from the light above. Carbon steel brings strength and precise, clean lines, the kind of rigidity a long, heavy stone surface needs to stay steady. Where an all-stone table feels soft and sculptural, this pairing reads crisper and more graphic, closer to a gallery or a modern loft than a classic formal dining room.
Marble is a natural stone and needs some care. Acidic foods and drinks like wine, citrus, tomato, and vinegar can stain or leave dull etch marks, so use placemats and coasters, wipe spills promptly, clean with a pH-neutral cleaner, and reseal periodically as recommended. Dust the steel with a soft, dry cloth. The table is very heavy, so measure doorways, hallways, and turns before ordering and choose its final spot before delivery.
Why It Works
- 94.49" x 43.31" surface seats eight generously and up to ten
- Natural marble brings one-of-a-kind veining and a cool, light-catching finish
- Carbon steel adds strength and clean lines to support a long stone surface
- Wide 43.31" surface fits full place settings plus shared dishes down the center
- Standard 29.53" height pairs easily with most dining chairs
Ideal Placements
A modern open-plan loft. Stone and steel suit concrete floors, large windows, and high ceilings, and the table's length defines the dining zone clearly.
A contemporary dining room built for hosting. Eight to ten guests sit around one surface for holidays, birthdays, and long dinners.
A home with minimalist architecture. In a space with clean walls and little clutter, the marble veining and sharp steel lines become the focal point.
For comfort, plan a room at least 14 feet by 10 feet so there's walking space on every side.
Styling Pairings
Balance the hard materials with soft seating. Upholstered chairs in bouclé, leather, or wool in ivory, charcoal, taupe, or cognac work well. For a stronger modern look, choose slim black metal chairs with padded seats to echo the steel.
Use a large rug at least 24 inches bigger than the table on every side. A low-pile wool rug in gray, charcoal, or warm neutral tones adds softness and helps absorb sound.
Hang a long linear pendant in matte black, smoked glass, or brushed metal, or space two to three sculptural lights along the table. Keep centerpieces low and simple, like a row of candles or a few ceramic vessels.
Vibe & Aesthetic
Modern and architectural, with an industrial-luxe edge. Natural marble, strong steel, and generous proportions make it a good fit for contemporary, loft, minimalist, and modern luxury homes where the dining table is a design statement.
