Description
Sylvere Dining Table
A long marble and stainless steel dining table that seats eight, for people who host often and want the table itself to set the tone of the room.
At 86.61 inches long and 35.43 inches wide, it seats eight adults comfortably, three per side and one at each end. The width is slightly slimmer than many eight-seat tables, which keeps the setting elegant and leaves a little more room to walk around it, while still giving you space down the middle for serving dishes and a low centerpiece. At 29.76 inches high, it sits at standard dining height and works with most dining chairs.
Marble is the reason to choose this table. Each slab has its own veining, so no two tables look exactly the same. It feels cool and smooth under your hands and catches light in a way painted or laminated surfaces can't. Stainless steel brings a crisp, clean counterpoint: strong, rust-resistant, and precise in line. Together, the materials feel polished without being fussy.
Real marble needs a bit of care, so it's worth knowing before you buy. It's a natural stone and can absorb stains or show dull etch marks from acidic foods and drinks like wine, citrus, tomato sauce, and vinegar. Use coasters and placemats, wipe spills quickly, clean with a soft cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner, and reseal periodically as recommended. It's also heavy, so choose its spot before delivery. Treated this way, marble develops a gentle, lived-in character over time.
Why It Works
- Natural marble brings unique veining and a cool, smooth surface that catches light
- Stainless steel adds strength, clean lines, and a finish that resists rust
- 86.61" x 35.43" size seats eight adults for dinner parties and family gatherings
- Slightly slimmer width keeps the table elegant and eases movement around it
- Standard 29.76" height pairs easily with most dining chairs
Ideal Placements
A formal dining room. Marble and steel create a polished setting for dinner parties, holidays, and celebrations.
A large open-plan living and dining space. A long stone table gives the room a strong focal point and clearly defines the dining area.
A modern home with clean architecture. In a space with large windows, simple lines, and minimal clutter, the marble becomes the natural center of attention.
For comfort, plan a room at least 13 feet by 10 feet so there's walking space around the table on every side.
Styling Pairings
Soft upholstered chairs balance the cool stone and steel. Try bouclé, velvet, or leather in ivory, taupe, charcoal, or cognac. For a sleeker look, choose slim chairs with metal frames that echo the steel.
Use a large rug at least 24 inches bigger than the table on every side. A plush wool rug in cream, gray, or a soft pattern adds warmth and quiets the room.
Hang a long linear pendant or a pair of sculptural lights over the table in brushed steel, chrome, or glass. Keep the tabletop simple: a row of candles, a low floral arrangement, or a few ceramic vases so the marble veining stays visible.
Vibe & Aesthetic
Modern and polished, with a classic, elegant edge. Natural marble and clean steel make it a good fit for contemporary, modern luxury, minimalist, and transitional homes where the dining table is meant to be admired as much as used.
