Description
Urbelle Sideboard
When a room has one long wall and a lot of stuff without a home, a low wide cabinet does more than any bookshelf will. The Urbelle Sideboard is a wood buffet and media console in one, 78.74" long, 18.5" deep, and 29.53" tall. It is for anyone who needs real closed storage in a dining or living room and wants the clutter behind doors instead of stacked on a surface.
Built from solid wood with engineered wood panels, it holds a straight line across almost six and a half feet, which is exactly what a span this long needs. The solid wood shows up where you touch it, at the edges and the door fronts, and the engineered panels keep the case from warping or sagging over time. You feel it in the doors: they swing without flexing and sit flush when closed.
The 29.53" height is lower than a typical buffet, and that is worth understanding before you buy. It puts a TV at comfortable seated eye level, so this doubles as a media console with the cable box, console, and games hidden inside. In a dining room it still serves food fine, it just sits a little below counter height. The 18.5" depth is generous for a piece this slim-looking, deep enough for stacked dinnerware, table linens, vinyl, or a row of file boxes, while leaving room to walk behind chairs.
Why It Works
- 78.74" of length, enough to anchor a long wall with a lamp at each end and space to spare.
- 18.5" depth swallows stacked plates, linens, records, or file boxes instead of just the shallow stuff.
- 29.53" height puts a TV at seated eye level, so it works as a media console as well as a buffet.
- Solid wood and engineered panels keep a long cabinet straight and the doors flush over the years.
- Everything behind closed doors, which matters most on the wall you look at from the sofa.
Ideal Placements
- The living room TV wall. The low height sets the screen right, and the electronics, cables, and controllers disappear inside.
- A dining room with a long bare wall. Linens, china, and bar supplies stored where you use them, with the top free for serving.
- A wide hallway or open-plan entry. Bags, shoes, mail, and keys get a home, and the long top takes a lamp and a mirror above it.
Styling Pairings
Wood this wide wants a little contrast so the wall does not read as one solid block. Pair it with an upholstered sofa in oatmeal, clay, or deep green, a wool or jute flat-weave rug, and a coffee table in stone, glass, or a cooler metal. In a dining room, upholstered chairs in bouclé or cognac leather keep it warm; a stone-top table cools it down.
On top, a pair of ceramic lamps with linen shades at the ends does most of the work. Add one tall branch or olive-stem arrangement, two or three books, and a wood or brass tray. If a TV sits there, skip one lamp and put a leaning framed print and a low plant on the open end instead. Hang art or a long horizontal mirror 6 to 8 inches above the top, and pick one metal finish to repeat in your lighting and hardware.
Vibe & Aesthetic
Warm modern with mid-century proportions. Low, long, honest wood, no ornament, the sort of piece that calms a wall down rather than competing with it. It fits mid-century, Scandinavian, and modern minimalist rooms, and Japandi-leaning spaces as well.
