Description
Monceau Marble Dining Table
A 110-inch solid ash wood and marble dining table that seats ten to twelve, for homes where the guest list is long and everyone belongs at the same table.
At just over nine feet long and 47.24 inches wide, this is a banquet-scale table. Ten adults sit comfortably, four along each side and one at each end, and twelve fit for a big celebration. The close-to-four-foot width leaves room for full place settings plus a long run of platters, candles, and wine down the center. It's the kind of table that turns holidays, milestone birthdays, and extended-family dinners into one shared meal instead of two separate tables. At 29.53 inches high, it sits at standard dining height and works with most dining chairs and benches.
Marble on this scale makes a real impression. Natural veining stretches along the length of the stone, and the cool, smooth surface reflects the light from the pendants above. Solid ash adds pale, honey-toned warmth and a clear, open grain, softening a large expanse of stone so the table feels welcoming rather than formal. Ash is also a hard, resilient wood, giving a table this size a sturdy, grounded feel.
A table like this needs planning. Marble can stain or show dull etch marks from acidic foods and drinks like wine, citrus, tomato, and vinegar, so use placemats, runners, and coasters, wipe spills promptly, clean with a pH-neutral cleaner, and reseal periodically as recommended. Dust the ash with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from standing water. The table is very heavy and very long: measure doorways, hallways, stairwells, and turns before ordering, and choose its final spot before delivery.
Why It Works
- 110.24" length seats ten comfortably and up to twelve
- 47.24" width fits full place settings plus a long line of shared dishes
- Marble brings natural veining across a long, dramatic expanse of stone
- Solid ash wood adds pale, honey-toned warmth and a sturdy feel
- Standard 29.53" height pairs easily with most dining chairs and benches
Ideal Placements
A large home that hosts extended family. Holidays and reunions fit around one table, with no need for a separate kids' table or folding extensions.
A grand dining room or great room. A table this long fills a large space properly and gives the room a strong, elegant center.
A home designed for entertaining. Dinner parties for ten or twelve feel natural, with room for a full spread down the middle.
For comfort, plan a room at least 15.5 feet by 10 feet so there's walking space on every side.
Styling Pairings
Mix seating to break up the length: upholstered chairs along the sides with two statement armchairs at the ends, or benches on one side for a relaxed feel. Cream, oatmeal, olive, and cognac all suit the ash and marble.
Use a long rectangular rug at least 24 inches bigger than the table on every side, roughly 12 by 16 feet. Wool or a textured flat weave in warm neutrals grounds the table and softens a big room.
Hang a long linear fixture or three matching pendants spaced evenly along the table. Style the center with a long linen runner and a row of low candles and small arrangements so guests can talk across the table.
Vibe & Aesthetic
Grand and welcoming, with a modern organic feel. Natural marble, pale solid ash, and banquet-scale proportions make it a good fit for modern farmhouse, transitional, Mediterranean, and warm contemporary homes built around big gatherings.
